The Niels Bohr International Academy plans to fill one fixed-term position at the Assistant Professorship level in Theoretical Physics. The position is for an initial period of 3 years with the possibility of an extension for another 2 years. The proposed starting date is the fall of 2010, but alternate dates can be negotiated. All subjects related to theoretical and mathematical physics, including the model description of physical systems and data will be considered. It is, however, unlikely that the position will be filled in theoretical high energy physics since a similar position in that field has recently been filled.
We seek internationally outstanding candidates who have formed their own independent research direction, and who are potential leaders in their fields. They will be given the opportunity and responsibility for building a small group around their research subjects. There are possibilities (but no obligations) for guiding PhD-students and for teaching in English at all university levels. The chosen candidates are expected to engage themselves vigorously in creating a stimulating international research environment at the Niels Bohr International Academy. In particular, significant funds are available to support an active visitor program, workshops and conferences. There are close connections to research groups at the Niels Bohr Institute, many of which are funded as independent research centers.
More information about the research carried out at the Niels Bohr Institute can be found here.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a brief statement of current research interests and goals, and should arrange for at least 3 letters of recommendation to be sent to asstprof09@nbi.dk.
Applications must be received not later than November 14, 2009.
